Dean Powder grew up in a small M�tis community in northern Saskatchewan called Camsell Portage. He began playing guitar and singing at the age of nine and by the time dean was 17 years-old he was performing in a band. Dean went on to play with over a dozen bands across Saskatchewan, Alberta, & Manitoba.

After burning out in bars and seedy hotels, Dean became disillusioned with his life on the circuit. He decided to give himself up to Christ and begin a new phase of his life. Gospel fans will forever be grateful that Dean made this choice. He now sings exclusively for Christ, who he considers his greatest friend and saviour.

In 2006 Dean Powder teamed up with Cherish Records to record a collection of gospel songs. �Try Jesus Today� was the fulfillment of a life-long dream for Dean and will stand as a testament to both Dean�s faith and musical talents for many, many years to come.
