Métis Dance – Métis Music Inc. Is pleased to produce these tunes, which was made solely to teach our cultural dance to our people in the community.
The Edmonton Métis Dancers are now celebrating their second decade of performing and teaching Métis dance and music. The Edmonton Métis dancers have always performed traditional dances in their performances and continue to keep our Métis dance and music alive.
This CD is dedicated to our founder and inspiration Georgina Donald.
Georgina was the mother, grandmother and great grandmother to most of the dancers. She and her husband Ross were proud of their heritage and were proud to pass it down to their family. The music on this CD was done by three of her favorite local fiddlers, Rod Sutherland, Homer Poitras and Gilbert Anderson, who played for our group over the past 20 years.
Musicians:
Rodney Sutherland – Fiddle & Guitar Homer Poitras – Fiddle, Guitar & Keyboards Gilbert Anderson – Fiddle & Guitar Kathleen Steinhaur – Keyboards
Mixed & Mastered by Bill Hobson Produced by Lyle Donald and the Edmonton Métis Cultural Dancers
